Choosing a subject

Before you can create a website and sell products on it,
you have to carefully choose what your site is going to be about.
Try and choose a subject that you are already familiar with, like a hobby (eg) golf.
Once you have done this, it's best to pick a specific area within your chosen subject.
(eg) golf shoes or about your favourite golf courses.

Once you have done this you can start thinking about what your website name should be.

Domain names

I learnt to design a site like this in a few months, reading a lot of help books along the way
but if you have not got the time to do this there is a great little tool called website builder that you can use.

Along the right hand side of this page are just a few of the books that I used to learn website design. They seem to have served me well.

Design your own site.

Designing a website takes up a fair bit of time because there are a couple of languages that you have to use.
The first is HTML and the second is CSS. There are other languages you can learn but it is best to start with these two and it is probably best that you start with HTML, as it is the language that the world wide web is built on.
Below are two links that will take you to my tutorials on basic HTML and CSS.
I hope you enjoy them and if you have any comments you would like to make, just send me an email using the email icon at the top of the page.
