Video

It is my belief that the Internet is heading more to using video than the normal text format that we use now.
One great example of this is YouTube which is getting more hits every day than any other website, yes, even more than Facebook.
So how can you make video work for your website?
First of all you need some kind of camera. Try to use a digital camcorder instead of a webcam as the quality will look a lot better.
Secondly you will need some editing software.

Different styles of video

So now that you have all this let us take a look at the different types of videos you can make.

Full face video

This is where the person who is talking is in video. Videos with peoples faces in them tend to get more hits than ones that do not.
Web surfers like to see who is presenting the video.

PowerPoint/keynote

A video that is just text and maybe voice over is more helpful when trying to explain complicated things because the viewer can just pause the video at any point instead of having to re-watch the footage.

Software browser demo

Software browser demos are great for showing people how to use a piece of software or how they can do something online like sign up to Youtube.

Combinations

Integrating the videos, part full face with maybe an article and some browser demos, are a good way of making your videos more interesting.
The combination of all the different types of videos can make for some amazing footage.

Youtube logo

When you have made a few videos you will need to put them online.
The best place to do this is Youtube. Youtube is a great place to get free traffic to your site.
Just as Web surfers can type in “fishing” into Google to find your site the same can be done with Youtube. Yes, it all comes back to your keywords. You can enter keywords and a title for every video you submit as this will help people find it on Youtube and get you more hits. Also you can embed any video from Youtube into your website using the code that Youtube provide.
All you do is paste the code into your HTML page. Setting up a Youtube account is so easy. Here is a quick explanation of how to do it.
